Authoring a website is a bit like talking from the stage in a darkened theatre. Is there anybody there beyond the footlights? If there is do they care what you're saying?

This website is very new although Grandad has been struttin' his stuff for a couple of years or more. He is always pleased to get Emails commenting on subjects covered on this site or of interest to the older surfer

Grandad will put up interesting comments here. Your Email won't be disclosed to a third party; Grandad respects your privacy over everything.

I haven't bothered with this section much because Emails have been few and far between, but I have been able to help some people on social subjects.

Most interest has been shown in the Railway section and John, AKA ' Lerpass Mapter' (Plasser Tamper) has been very helpful with insite into modern track maintenance equipment and has given me several interesting URLs.

Would you believe that I have had several emails from companies in Bangladesh asking me to quote for track equipment? Is it a wind-up I ask myself? If so by whom

Could it be ..............? No, surely not; in any case I treat the Emails with courtesy as I do all my correspondents.

Quite recently I had an email from a student in USA asking my advice on a tamping problem. I hope I was able to help a little....
